Dylan Willoughby, Writer
Dylan Willoughby is a writer currently living in southern California. His fiction has appeared in the acclaimed Story magazine, and his poetry has appeared in literary magazines in the US and the UK, including in Shenandoah, Denver Quarterly,Agenda (UK) and Stand (UK).
Three of his poems appear in the a recent issue of Agenda, which received high praise from the UK newspaper,The Independent. One of those poems was selected as poem of the day on the Verse Daily web site. Two poems appear in Southern Humanities Review (which includes a poem dedicated to A. R. Ammons), one poem in Orbis, and other poetry is forthcoming in Salmagundi.
Chester Creek Press has recently printed a limited-edition chapbook of poems entitled Thrive and will also be printing a deluxe limited-edition of a chapbook entitled Dusk at St. Mark's And Other Poems, illustrated by the artist Anthony Mastromatteo.
Littoral Press has printed two limited-edition broadsides of his poems "Thrive" and "Dusk at St. Mark's, As Seen From Dunkin' Donuts," both featuring the artwork of Anthony Mastromatteo.
Dylan received a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Cornell University, where he studied with A. R. "Archie" Ammons, Robert Morgan, Ken McClane and Phyllis Janowitz.
In spring 2008, he was a writer in residence at the Yaddo artists colony, where he received a residency fellowship. He will be a writer in residence at the MacDowell Colony in 2009.
He is working on a new fiction as well as poetry and music.
